SOLITARY CONFINEMENT 5

As you may already know, legislation regarding the use of solitary confinement has passed both the Virginia House of Delegates and the Senate. The legislation differs, and there is now an effort by legislators to reconcile the differences.

Six confreres, legislators from both the House and Senate, have been selected to reconcile the differences that exist in the two pieces of legislation. SALT supports legislation that clearly limits confinement to no more than 15 days in a 60-day period and prevents unlimited discretion when assigning the incarcerated to solitary confinement.

Please read the advocacy letter you can send to the six legislators by CLICKING HERE.

If you are in agreement with the proposed letter of advocacy, please follow the steps requested and send your letter in support of ending solitary confinement.
