Barbara Favola 4

On Friday, April 28, at 7:00 p.m., SALT will honor Senator Barbara Favola. Because of her legislative efforts to protect and lift up the many vulnerable Virginia families burdened by poverty, Senator Favola is being recognized by SALT for her outstanding service, patience, and persistence in her legislative efforts to advance the common good.  Pope Francis surely had in mind political leaders like Senator Favola when he wrote several years ago: "Politics, though often denigrated, remains a lofty vocation and one of the highest forms of charity, inasmuch as it seeks the common good." Thanks to the work of Senator Favola, other legislators committed to social justice working with her, and SALT advocates for justice, we can be confident that the moral arc of the universe is bending toward justice.

Please plan to join SALT next Friday in paying tribute to Senator Favola for her stellar legislative work in the Virginia General Assembly. The award will be presented by John Horejsi, the founder of SALT and coordinator of SALT's social justice advocacy work for the past forty years. Joining John to pay tribute to Senator Favola for her legislative work on behalf of impoverished families will be Valerie L'Herrou, Deputy Director-Center for Family Advocacy at the Virginia Poverty Law Center.

The presentation will be made at a gathering of social justice advocates on Zoom. All SALT advocates and friends of SALT are invited to attend.  To join us for this event, please click on the following linkhttps://us02web.zoom.us/j/3060493017?pwd=NC85eCthVkdRRzdQWUhvYitxYzdOdz09.
