Below is a call-to-action message SALT received from our friends at the Coalition of Human Needs. Please read and consider taking action in support of the Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children and child care needed to support young families with low income.

Critical funding for future generations is running out.

If the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) funding is not expanded, some families with young children could be placed on waiting lists. And, with pandemic-era funds for child care centers about to run out, child care centers across the country could be forced to close, harming millions of children and families.

The Senate is now crafting a continuing resolution (CR) to keep the government funded beyond next Saturday. 

Sign and send a message to your senators and representative and demand Congress pass a clean CR that adds urgently needed funding for WIC and child care to support young families with low incomes.
