THE WEALTHY SHOULD PAY THEIR FAIR TAXES!

Call Your Senators & Tell Them No More Tax Breaks for the Wealthy

Last week, Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia announced he would no longer support key provisions of the trillion-dollar investment and tax plan he had been negotiating with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer. The plan, which already passed the House last November, would have begun to reverse 40 years of trickle-down tax cuts and used the money to help working families afford health care, childcare, housing, and more.

Congress should ensure that the wealthy and corporations pay their fair share of taxes. Instead, Senator Manchin and other Democrats are unwilling to close the loopholes that allow them to duck from fair tax bills. Why are our elected officials prioritizing the wealth of billionaires and CEOs over an equitable economy that works for working people and families?

Because they think we aren't paying attention. Help us prove them wrong and let them know that Senate inaction is unacceptable.

Call Your Senators NOW: 888-436-6478!
Tell them you are angry about the lack of action on a tax and investment plan in Congress.
*Dial 888-436-6478 twice to reach both of your Senators*

When you call, here's what you might say:

"Hello, my name is [YOUR NAME] from [YOUR TOWN]. As your constituent and a member of NETWORK, I want you to know how unhappy I am that the Senate is not closing the loopholes that let corporations and the wealthy avoid paying their fair share.

It's time for Congress to support working people and families, not just the wealthy special interests who don't pay their fair share of taxes. Will the Senator work with others in Congress to pass legislation that centers the needs of working people and families?

Over the past year, with your help, we have been advocating for Democrats in Congress to pass a transformative package of legislation to support people and families.

Senator Joe Manchin's shocking flip-flop on taxes is the result of a larger effort to get our elected representatives to put corporate interests ahead of people. The efforts of the moneyed interests are paying off.

My friend, this is a long game. We have to keep the pressure on Congress to do the right thing because the big-moneyed special interests won't stop looking for opportunities to cheat on their taxes. Thank you for your continued advocacy for economic justice.
