This is a quick reminder that our “Day for All People” will occur on Wednesday, January 22. If you haven’t already done so, please register for the day as soon as you can, especially if you would like a seat on our (FREE) bus to and from Richmond that day!

As in years past, on the Day for All People we will join with justice advocates from around the state to lobby our individual legislators in Richmond. VICPP will set up all appointments for you, and you will learn more about important justice issues in Virginia. Note: you will be fully briefed before visiting your legislators and given issue papers to leave with them. 

Below are details about the bus. Please remember that you need to register separately for the day’s activities and for the bus.

BUS DETAILS:

The bus will leave at 5:45am, in order to arrive in Richmond by 7:30am.  The Day for All People will end by 3pm and the bus will depart for Northern Virginia immediately after.  We will arrive in Northern Virginia by 5pm, depending on traffic.

Here are the details for the bus ride:

  • 5:45 am - Pick-up at Annandale United Methodist Church, 6935 Columbia Pike, Annandale
  • 6:00 am (approx.) - Pick-up in Commuter lot off 95 (Rte. 123 and Old Bridge Road, Woodbridge)
  • Drop-off - Centenary United Methodist Church, Richmond
  • 3:00 - 3:15 pm - Pick-up at Centenary United Methodist Church, Richmond
  • Drop-offs at Commuter Lot in Woodbridge and Annandale United Methodist Church

Join us for our annual MLK Day Vigil and Advocacy Day for Gun Violence Prevention in Richmond! Join us on Monday, January 20th at the Virginia State Capitol to honor the memories and teachings of a great civil rights leader who was killed by gunfire. We will also honor the lives of all Virginians killed by gun violence and invite you to commit to reducing gun violence by raising our voices for responsible gun laws. 

We have two options to sign up to attend the event (below), based on whether you would like to reserve a bus seat with us or if you're providing your transportation to the Capitol. (Important: Please note that times vary based on which transportation option you choose.)
