SALT encourages all people of faith to also be advocates for justice, to help in bending the âarc of historyâ toward justice by working to eliminate the structures of injustice that keep our less fortunate brothers and sisters from living in dignity and flourishing.

Social Action Linking Together (SALT) is a network of persons in Virginia embracing the principle that “The justice of a society can be measured by how the most vulnerable members of that society are faring and being treated.” This principle can be found in all the great religious traditions and inspires SALT members to propose and shape fair public social policies through our education of policy makers & our advocacy for the poor and powerless. In 2020, the General Assembly passed (click on) Earned Sentence Credits (ESC). The incarcerated who receive ESC are publicly vetted twice when they meet the requirements of the ESC program. Earned Sentence Credits are a powerful incentive and motivation for the incarcerated to rehabilitate.

Click here to find your Delegate and State Senator. Tell them to leave funding in the budget for Earned Sentence Credits.
