Dear John,

I have received the questionnaire that your organization sent my campaign.

I will not be answering any questionnaires this year.

After twenty -four years in the Virginia Senate, my voting record should speak for itself.  You will probably like some votes and dislike others.

The votes in committees and on the floor have the advantage of clarity. Our choice is to vote for or against specific language.  Unfortunately, the questions asked on most questionnaires are not ever subject to a vote in the Senate.  Certainly, they are not voted on in the exact form asked by the interest groups. This could lead to misunderstandings and I prefer not to take that risk.

This letter is going to all groups that have sent me questionnaires.

Best regards,
Janet Howell Senator
District 32
