Colman McCarthy, our keynote speaker, will talk about how we can be empowered and work more effectively for social change by embracing the skills that he teaches at the Center for Teaching Peace, where he serves as the director. Our goal is not only to make legislators and the public more aware of the most vulnerable in our society and the structural injustices that keep them from having a place at the table, but also to advocate more effectively for social justice via peaceful social change. The speaker, a highly respected peace activist and effective teacher of peace, will be sharing his insights relative to developing the competency needed to becoming more effective advocates for the most vulnerable. Please plan to attend.

SALT is a parish-based network of over 1,000 legislative advocates. Our goal is to link both faith and action through our advocacy for State initiatives that will help Virginia families who are poor or homeless. The Fall Conference is traditionally a time when we present our initiatives and strategies for the coming year to our members. Everybody is welcome John Horejsi
